Robert Wright

Chair of Sustainable Energy ESG Task Force

Robert Wright is a globally recognized leader in corporate strategy, sustainability, and government policy, bringing over three decades of experience at the EU and global levels. His career has been dedicated to creating impactful dialogue between governments, large corporations and industry associations, driving forward multi-billion-dollar investment strategies and sustainability initiatives across energy, climate, technology, and other industrial sectors including pharmaceuticals, medical devices and buildings

As Chair of the MEBAS Sustainable Energy Task Force, Robert leads efforts to strengthen collaboration on sustainable energy transition and ESG-driven innovation across the Middle East and beyond. His focus lies in integrating policy, corporate sustainability and technological innovation to accelerate the low-carbon economy and sustainable energy futures.

Robert has held senior roles including Head of Public and Government Affairs and Sustainability at Intel Corporation, where he designed the company’s first Global Corporate Sustainability Strategy. He also served as CEO of the European Biofuels sector, CEO of the Lifts and Buildings sector, and Head of Global Sustainability and Market Development in the LP Gas and Solar Energy sectors.

A multilingual professional and author of two publications on global trade and environmental policy, Robert has advised leading international institutions, including the European Commission, the European Environment Agency, and McKinsey’s Global Smart 2020 Report. He founded the Global ICT Sustainability Forum and served as Special Advisor to EU Commissioner Margot Wallström. He has also been a Board Member of various Industry and Sustainability Associations including Tech America, the European Semiconductors Association, PV Solar Cycle and Digital Europe.
